You stop re-explaining
No more describing your network from scratch to a new technician. Your pod already knows the topology, the quirks and the history.
Why Orca?
The name is not decoration. Orcas solve problems in small permanent family groups that communicate constantly and never work a difficult job alone. Every one of those traits maps to a specific way we run support.
The Idea
We picked the orca because it is the clearest natural example of the thing most IT companies get wrong: continuity beats individual brilliance.
Orcas are among the most intelligent animals in the ocean, but their real advantage is social. They live in stable family pods for life. They hunt cooperatively with defined roles. They pass techniques between generations. Individually impressive, collectively formidable, and crucially, the group does not reshuffle between jobs. That last detail is the one our industry ignores.
Smart animals do not brute-force problems. Neither should a technician. Our engineers diagnose before they touch anything: read the logs, check the event timeline, reproduce the fault, identify the root cause. Reimaging a machine is fast and often hides the reason five other machines are about to do the same thing.
Practically, that means we track repeat tickets by cause. If the same symptom appears three times, it stops being a ticket and becomes a project, and we tell you why.
A pod stays together. So does yours. You get a named lead engineer and a named backup who hold your account long-term, know that the accounting workstation needs a static IP, and remember which switch port feeds the conference room. New members join with a deliberate handover, never by silent reassignment.
Continuity is the cheapest performance gain available in managed services. A technician who already knows your environment resolves the same issue in a fraction of the time a stranger needs, and gets it right more often.
Orcas keep up near-constant vocal contact; each pod even has its own dialect. Our version is written. Network diagrams, VLAN maps, credential vaults, licensing records, warranty dates, vendor contacts and the specific quirks of your environment all live in documentation the pod maintains and you own. Nothing important is stored only in one person's memory.
It also means you get communicated with. Ticket updates in plain language, a note when we change something, and the recurring Surface Check with your leadership rather than an annual silence punctuated by invoices.
Never hunting alone becomes our escalation rule. No engineer is left stuck on your problem out of pride. Tier 1 escalates to Tier 2, Tier 2 to the network or security lead, and difficult incidents get a second engineer immediately rather than after four hours of solo effort. All of them work from the same office in Gilbert, so escalation is a conversation, not a ticket handoff to a company you have never heard of.
That is the whole metaphor, and we try not to overwork it. What matters is the operational result: the same people, who wrote things down, who ask each other for help early. If you want the direct comparison against how other providers staff, read how we are different. The Pod Model
Four named service concepts, one team delivering them.
The fully managed plan. Flat monthly per-user cost covering monitoring, patching, help desk, vendor management and strategy.
24/7 monitoring and patch management across endpoints, servers, switches, firewalls and backup jobs.
Layered security: MFA and Entra ID hardening, EDR, email filtering, phishing training and compliance support.
Help desk with same-business-day human response, plus after-hours emergency response for Pod Care clients.
The Payoff
The metaphor is only worth anything if it changes your experience. Here is where it shows.
No more describing your network from scratch to a new technician. Your pod already knows the topology, the quirks and the history.
Root-cause diagnosis means fewer reopened tickets. The pod tracks repeat causes and converts them into permanent fixes.
Getting a senior engineer involved takes a walk down the hall, not a queue position with a partner company in another country.
When someone takes leave, the documentation and the backup engineer carry the account. Your service does not dip.
A pod that has watched your business for three years gives sharper guidance on refresh cycles, licensing and capacity than any first-visit consultant.
When something needs hands, an Orca IT engineer drives from Gilbert. No subcontractor, no unfamiliar face at your reception desk.
Meet the engineers who would hold your account before you decide anything.
Because orcas solve hard problems in small, permanent family groups rather than as interchangeable individuals. That is precisely how we staff support, and it is the opposite of the ticket-queue model most providers use. The name is a commitment, not a mascot.
Small by design, typically a lead engineer and a backup with access to network and security specialists when a job needs them. The exact shape depends on the size and complexity of your environment, but you always know who your primary contacts are.
Your backup engineer takes over, and because documentation lives with the pod rather than in one head, the handover is not disruptive. This is the main practical reason we assign two named people rather than one.
It can, but never silently. If we need to move someone, there is a deliberate handover and you are told who is joining and why. Unannounced reassignment is the thing we built the model to avoid.
Yes. The same engineers who work your tickets remotely are the ones who drive out across the Phoenix metro when a job needs physical hands. We do not split remote and onsite between different teams or companies.
No. Pod Care is priced flat per user per month, the same way any managed plan would be. Continuity actually reduces cost on our side because familiar engineers resolve issues faster, which is part of why the model is sustainable.
You can still work with us on a project or repair basis, and you will still deal with consistent people. The full pod structure with monitoring, patching and reviews comes with Pod Care, but honesty and continuity are not reserved for contract clients.
Yes. Clients anywhere in the 50 states get named engineers, maintained documentation and the same escalation path. The only difference is that physical onsite work is arranged case by case rather than included.
