Aurora is designed as a complete system rather than a box of standard parts. That produces a tidy, well-cooled machine and a short list of things you cannot simply swap.
Open an Aurora and the layout makes sense immediately. Airflow is directed, cabling is routed for it, and the cooler sits exactly where the chassis expects it to sit. It is better thought out than most prebuilt towers. The trade is that several parts are specific to the design: the board outline and mounting, the front panel wiring, the cooler mount and, on a number of generations, the dimensions and connectors of the power supply.
This is the single most common surprise. Aurora power supplies are built to fit a particular bracket in a particular place, and some generations use motherboard power connectors that are not the standard arrangement found on a retail unit. A supply bought online can therefore be the right wattage and still be wrong twice over: it will not physically mount, and the cables will not match the board.
We identify the exact unit fitted, confirm the connector layout and source a correct replacement, or fit a standard supply where the chassis genuinely accepts one. What we will not do is force a part in and hand back a machine that runs hot or behaves unpredictably under load.
Many Aurora machines ship with a closed-loop cooler on the processor. Closed loops need no topping up and no maintenance in the sense most people expect. What they do need is a clean radiator, working fans and a pump that is still moving coolant. Radiator fins block with dust exactly like a heatsink, and a blocked radiator makes a perfectly healthy pump look faulty.
The failure we look for is different: processor temperature climbing fast under load while the radiator stays close to room temperature, sometimes with a rattle from the pump block. That combination means flow has stopped. It is worth acting on quickly, because it is the one Aurora fault where continuing to use the machine does real damage.
Storage and memory are usually the easy wins. Drive positions are accessible, and a machine that feels sluggish on an older mechanical drive is transformed by an SSD upgrade and a clone. Memory depends on the board generation, both for the capacity it accepts and for what it will actually run stable.
Graphics is where we talk the most people out of things. A modern high-draw card has to clear the chassis internals in length, height and thickness, and the supply already in the machine has to have both the headroom and the right connectors to feed it. We measure and calculate rather than estimate. If the card you want needs a new supply as well, you should know that before it arrives, not after. The same honesty applies across the rest of our computer repair work.

Planning Ahead
Aurora owners usually ask one of two things: is this worth fixing, and can I make it faster. The answers depend more on the generation than on the symptom.
For a machine within a few generations of current, repair is almost always right. Supplies, coolers, fans and drives are replaceable, the chassis is solid, and the graphics card is often the most valuable part in the box and completely reusable. Replacing a failed supply on a machine like that is straightforward value.
It changes when the board itself has failed on an older generation, or when the upgrade you want needs a new supply, a new cooler and more clearance than the chassis has. At that point you are building a machine inside a case that was never designed for it. We price both routes, including moving your card and drives into a standard chassis, and let you choose. Drives are checked at intake either way, and imaged before anything involving power. Desktop drives fail quietly, and the first sign is often an unrelated repair that will not complete. We would rather find that on day one than in the middle of a rebuild.
Sometimes, and sometimes not. Several generations use a supply built to specific dimensions with a bracket to match, and some use motherboard power connectors that differ from the retail standard. We identify what is actually in your machine first, because a unit with the right wattage can still be the wrong shape and the wrong wiring.
That is a measurement question rather than a yes or no. We check card length, height and thickness against the internal clearance, then confirm the supply has the connectors and the headroom. Tell us the model you are considering before you order it and we will give you a straight answer, including whether a supply upgrade comes with it.
No. It is a sealed unit and there is nothing to fill. What it needs is a clean radiator, healthy fans and a working pump. If the processor gets hot fast while the radiator stays cool, the pump has stopped moving coolant and that needs attention quickly rather than at your convenience.
Usually not. The far more common cause is dust in the radiator or heatsink, which makes the fans run at high speed permanently without achieving much. A clean fixes it. Where a fan has genuinely developed bearing noise you can normally hear it as a tick or grind at one speed, and we replace those individually.
If the board supports a current version of Windows and the chassis is in good shape, a drive and memory upgrade makes it feel new for a fraction of replacement cost. If it will not run a supported operating system, put the money toward a new machine and we will move your data and settings across.
