That usage pattern defines the repairs. A machine on the adapter all day, running a high-power processor and graphics chip together, puts sustained current through a charging connector, a set of cables and a series of power stages on the mainboard. Nothing there is fragile, but nothing there is stress free either, and it is the part of the machine most likely to give you trouble first.

The 18 has the largest cooling system in the range and it needs all of it. More fin area, larger fans and a longer spreader all help, but the total heat is higher than anything else here, so a blocked or dried out assembly costs proportionally more. A machine that used to hold its clocks for an hour and now fades after fifteen minutes is describing a service interval, not a defect.
The other consequence is what heat does to the battery. A pack sitting at high charge and high temperature all day ages faster than one that is cycled normally. A large lid is heavy, and heavy lids work the hinges and the display cable running through them. Flicker that changes when the lid is moved, a lid that no longer holds its angle, or a corner of the panel that has gone dark are wear items rather than mysteries. Caught early they are cable and hinge work rather than a full assembly.
Carrying a machine this size also loads the ports. A cable knocked while plugged in, or a bag set down hard with the adapter still attached, transmits that force straight to the board. If your Blade 18 mostly lives on a desk, a little care on the days it travels prevents most of what we see. Long Term
This is the most expensive machine in the range, which usually settles the repair question quickly. The parts that fail are also the ones that respond well to service.
Charging faults, cooling service, batteries, fans, hinges and storage are all worth doing, and between them they cover the large majority of what goes wrong on this model. A machine used at a desk for years, with the cooling maintained and the battery replaced once, stays useful for a long time. That is a better outcome than most gaming laptops manage.
