Convention weeks, event dates and peak service hours go into your account record, and non-urgent work is scheduled well clear of them.
Remote IT Support · Las Vegas, NV
Orca IT delivers remote managed IT, cyber security, network administration and help desk to Las Vegas businesses from Gilbert, Arizona. The same pod of our own engineers takes every ticket. In a market where the busiest hours are evenings and weekends, maintenance planning is not an afterthought.
Services
Hotels, restaurants, entertainment and event suppliers, construction, logistics and the professional firms serving all of them.
Point-of-sale and payment systems separated from guest and staff networks with enforced firewall rules, so PCI DSS scope is contained rather than accidentally covering your whole building.
Controller-managed wireless designed for dense, crowded rooms, with guest traffic isolated from everything else, bandwidth controls, and monitoring that shows what is actually happening during an event.
Monitoring, redundant connectivity and maintenance planned around evenings, weekends and convention weeks, because a Saturday night outage is not recoverable revenue.
Surveillance, door controllers and building systems put on their own segments with tight rules, since these devices are rarely patched and are a favourite entry point.
Temporary network requirements for shows and installations, controlled vendor access with time-limited credentials, and clean removal afterwards rather than an account left open for years.
Monitoring and patching, Microsoft 365 administration, EDR, MFA and conditional access, email authentication, staff training and immutable, restore-tested backups.
Las Vegas, NV
Most business software assumes an office that empties at five. Las Vegas does not work that way, and its IT should not be planned as though it does.
Hospitality, gaming-adjacent services, restaurants, entertainment and the enormous convention and trade show business set the operating rhythm. For hotels, venues, restaurants and their suppliers, the peak load happens exactly when a traditional IT provider has gone home. The practical consequences are simple: maintenance windows go early morning midweek rather than Friday evening, changes are avoided entirely during major convention weeks, and monitoring has to be genuinely automated because nobody is watching a dashboard at eleven on a Saturday.
Card data is the other constant. Any business taking payments faces PCI DSS obligations, and the most common failure we find is scope creep: point-of-sale terminals, back-office PCs, guest Wi-Fi and the camera system all sharing one flat network, which drags everything into scope and hands an attacker an easy path. Segmentation with enforced rules, isolated guest access, and separate treatment for cameras, door controllers and building systems fixes most of it. We do that design and configuration remotely, and document the network so an assessor has something coherent to read.
Beyond the resort corridor there is a substantial and growing warehousing and distribution sector in North Las Vegas, along with construction, healthcare and professional services. Those clients need the familiar core: monitoring and patching, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint protection, tested backups and a help desk that answers the same business day. That is Pod Care with security under Pod Guard.
Orca IT is based in Gilbert, Arizona and has no Nevada staff, which we would rather state plainly than imply otherwise. From March to November our clocks match yours exactly since Arizona skips daylight saving, and in winter we run an hour ahead and open before you do. Physical tasks, a failed terminal, a switch install, cabling in a venue, are handled by a vetted local technician we arrange with your consent while your pod directs the work. The same model serves clients in Los Angeles, San Diego and Denver, all through remote support.

How It Works
Convention weeks, event dates and peak service hours go into your account record, and non-urgent work is scheduled well clear of them.
Attended sessions use a one-time link you launch. Servers, point-of-sale back ends and always-on systems carry approved agents so overnight maintenance happens unattended.
Sessions are outbound and encrypted, visible on your screen and endable with one click. Connections are logged, which matters when card systems are in scope.
Changes are written down and the network documentation stays current, so a PCI conversation or an insurance renewal starts from a real diagram.
Arizona does not change for daylight saving, so from March to November we work exactly your hours and in winter we start an hour earlier.
No. Orca IT is family owned and based in Gilbert, Arizona, and we support Las Vegas clients remotely with our own engineers. Being a few hours away by road does not change that. Physical work is arranged with a vetted local technician for that specific task, with your approval and under our direction.
We implement the technical controls that PCI DSS requires of your environment, network segmentation, access control, MFA, patching, logging, endpoint protection and secure configuration, and we document the network. Validation is done through your acquirer or a qualified assessor, and we prepare you for it rather than replacing it.
Early mornings midweek in almost every case, agreed with you in advance and confirmed in writing. We also record your convention and event calendar and avoid non-urgent changes during those weeks entirely, because a slow night is still cheaper than a broken one.
Fully isolated from every internal system, with its own network, bandwidth controls and no route to point-of-sale, back office or building systems. Access points are controller-managed and monitored so a coverage complaint during an event can be diagnosed rather than guessed at.
Arizona does not observe daylight saving. From March to early November we are on exactly the same clock as Las Vegas, and from November to March we are one hour ahead, which means our team is already working before your office opens.
We do the design, equipment specification, configuration and cutover, and we stage the firewall and access points in Arizona so they arrive ready. The physical cabling and mounting is done by a local installer working to our drawings, with us verifying and configuring everything afterwards.
