Service Mix

What Spokane organisations use us for

Weighted for medicine, precision manufacturing and multi-site operations across the Inland Northwest.

Clinical IT

Practice and clinic systems

EHR performance, imaging handoffs, printing and integration problems, worked through with your software vendor rather than around them.

Multi-Site

Branches that behave identically

One identity model, one device standard and one set of network rules across every satellite clinic, branch or shop.

Manufacturing

Shop floor systems, contained

Isolated segments and full imaging for CNC controllers, inspection systems and test equipment that vendors will not let you patch.

Compliance

HIPAA technical safeguards

Access control, audit logging, encryption and documented backup testing, mapped to what the Security Rule actually asks for.

Backup

Restores that have been proven

Immutable offsite backup of servers, files and Microsoft 365 data, with test restores on a schedule you can show an auditor.

Help Desk

One number for every location

Pod Response gives every site the same small named engineering team, with same-business-day human response.

Inland Northwest

Spokane is a hub, and hub IT has its own problems

When your organisation serves a region rather than a city, your technology has to work equally well in the main building and in a clinic two hours away with one internet connection.

Healthcare dominates. Spokane is the referral and specialty centre for an enormous inland catchment, and around the hospitals sits a deep network of independent practices, imaging centres, dental groups, therapy clinics and behavioural health providers, many with satellite locations in smaller towns. The satellite is where IT usually fails: a single circuit, a consumer router someone bought locally, no monitoring, and a backup that has never been tested. We standardise those sites, managed firewall, proper VLANs, monitored connectivity, the same device build as the main office, and we help practices meet HIPAA's technical safeguards through access control, encryption, audit logging and tested restores as part of our security work. We do not certify compliance and no provider should tell you they can.

Aerospace and precision manufacturing form the second cluster. The region hosts a real supply base making components, assemblies and tooling for larger aerospace programmes, plus metal fabrication and specialty manufacturing. Those clients bring the classic industrial IT profile: machine controllers on operating systems nobody supports, drawings and specifications that customers expect you to protect, and increasingly, security questionnaires arriving from primes. We isolate the controllers, tighten identity around design data, and help you answer the questionnaires honestly through network administration and access control work.

Higher education and the nonprofit sector are the third layer, along with the professional services firms, law, accounting, engineering, insurance, that serve a regional client base. Their shared trait is a distributed, part-time and seasonal workforce, which makes identity and offboarding the highest-value thing to get right. An account that stays live after someone leaves is the most common serious hole we find.

Everything here is a multi-site problem eventually, and that is where a flat per-user managed IT plan pays for itself. Remote coverage does not care whether a user sits in the Spokane office, in Coeur d'Alene, or in a rural clinic, and remote support reaches all of them at the same speed. The nationwide directory is at remote IT support.

Pacific time, Arizona clock

Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so from March to November our clock matches Spokane exactly, and in winter we are one hour ahead. That is about as close as remote support gets. Our engineers are online before your staff arrive, and there is no waiting for another time zone to pick up a ticket you raised at four in the afternoon.

How It Works

Bringing every site under one roof

01

Deep Dive

A free assessment of every location, not just headquarters, covering network, identity, endpoints and backup.

02

Deploy

Agents install remotely at each site. Rural clinics and branch shops are onboarded the same way as the main office.

03

Standardise

One device build, one firewall approach, one identity model. The exceptions that make support unpredictable get removed.

04

Operate

Pod Watch monitors every site continuously, patching runs to an agreed schedule, and Surface Check reviews cover the whole estate.

Onsite help in the Inland Northwest

Orca IT is Arizona-based. When a rural site genuinely needs hands on hardware, we arrange a vetted local partner, scope the job precisely and stay on the call while it is done.

Spokane remote IT questions

How close is Arizona to Spokane time?

Very. Arizona keeps standard time all year, so from March to November we are on exactly the same hour as you, and in winter we are one hour ahead. Practically, that means our engineers are already working before your staff log in, and there is no handoff to another region at any point in your day.

Can you support satellite clinics in small towns?

Yes, and those sites are usually where we find the most risk. We put a managed firewall in place, monitor the circuit, standardise the workstations, and make sure backup and patching cover the site properly. Everything is done remotely, and a vetted local partner handles the rare job that needs hands on equipment.

We are an aerospace supplier being asked security questions by a prime. Can you help?

Yes. We assess your environment against the control families they are citing, confirm what is genuinely satisfied, and build a costed plan for the gaps. We are deliberately conservative about what we let you claim, because an inaccurate answer on a supplier questionnaire is a contract problem, not just a paperwork one.

Our CNC controllers run very old software. What do you do about them?

We contain them. The machine goes on an isolated network segment with no general internet route, only the traffic it genuinely needs is permitted, we take a full disk image so it can be rebuilt quickly, and we keep company credentials off it. The controller keeps running exactly as the vendor configured it.

Does a remote provider work for a medical practice?

Yes, because nearly all practice IT work is remote anyway: EHR issues, identity, mail security, patching and backup. We sign a business associate agreement, keep our own access controlled and logged, and coordinate a vetted local partner for physical work like replacing a failed workstation.

Is your support team outsourced?

No. Orca IT is family owned, in business since 2015, and every engineer is our employee. Your account is assigned a small consistent team, which matters when your environment spans several sites and nobody wants to explain the layout twice.
