Entra ID done properly
MFA everywhere, conditional access rules that match how your staff actually work, and regular access reviews that catch stale accounts.
Sacramento, California
Orca IT is a family-owned Arizona MSP supporting Sacramento businesses remotely. We work most often with firms whose contracts, patients or regulators require them to prove how data is protected, and we make that proof routine.
Overview
Sacramento's economy orbits two anchors: state government and healthcare. Around them sits everything that serves them, consultancies, lobbying and legal firms, staffing agencies, construction and engineering companies, technology vendors, and a large regional medical workforce.
That produces a specific kind of client. If you contract with a state agency, your security posture becomes part of your bid. If you are a clinic or a specialty practice affiliated with one of the region's health systems, HIPAA technical safeguards are not negotiable and California's own privacy law raises the stakes further. If you handle California residents' personal information at any scale, the CCPA and CPRA add breach exposure that did not exist a decade ago. Every one of those pressures lands on the same infrastructure: identity, endpoints, email, backup and logging.
So we start there. MFA and conditional access enforced in Entra ID, endpoint detection and response on every machine, disk encryption verified, admin accounts separated from daily accounts, email authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, centralized logging retained, and backups with immutable copies that get restore-tested on a schedule rather than trusted on faith. Then we document it, because in a procurement questionnaire or a breach investigation, a control you cannot evidence counts as a control you do not have. That work is Pod Guard, and the day-to-day management around it is Pod Care.
The region has plenty of texture beyond the capitol. Rancho Cordova and Folsom carry a substantial technology and insurance operations presence. Roseville and the Placer County suburbs hold a growing base of professional and medical offices. West Sacramento and the river corridor run distribution and food businesses. Midtown is dense with small firms, agencies and practices that want good IT without hiring for it. And the surrounding agricultural belt means a lot of Sacramento companies have field staff, remote sites and seasonal patterns to work around.
On hours, Sacramento is Pacific and Arizona does not observe daylight saving. From March to November our clocks are identical. Your 8:30 stand-up is our 8:30, with no conversion at all. From November to March California falls back and Arizona is one hour ahead, so we are already at work when your office opens. That early winter hour is where we run backup verification and patch confirmation, so problems surface before your first user logs in. Monitoring is continuous through Pod Watch regardless of season, and Pod Care includes after-hours emergency response for genuine outages.
Sacramento accounts commonly share a pod with our San Francisco and Fresno clients. The delivery model is spelled out on the remote support page, and every metro we cover sits on the remote IT support index.

How It Works
Who you serve, who reviews you, what you run and what has gone wrong lately. Thirty minutes, no script.
Free remote assessment across endpoints, identity, network, cloud and backup, ranked by real risk.
The gaps that would fail a review or cause a breach get closed first, scheduled outside your business hours.
Pod Care day to day, with continuous monitoring and a recurring Surface Check review for leadership.
Identical hours in summer, an hour ahead of you in winter.
From March to November, exactly. Arizona does not observe daylight saving, so we sit on the same clock as Pacific Daylight Time. In winter we are one hour ahead of you, which means our engineers are online before your office opens and can clear overnight alerts first.
Yes, and it is common work for us. We implement the controls the questionnaire describes, document them, and give you the technical evidence to attach. We do not write your bid or certify compliance, but we make sure your answers are accurate instead of optimistic.
Constantly. Devices are enrolled and managed wherever they live, access is controlled through Entra ID with MFA and conditional access, and data stays in managed cloud locations rather than on personal machines. Remote staff get the same help desk as people in the office.
CCPA and CPRA raise the cost of a breach, so our answer is practical: reduce the chance of one and be able to prove what happened if it occurs. That means EDR, MFA, email defense, logging with real retention, and tested backups. We handle the technical side and work with your counsel on policy.
Usually yes. We document your environment during the assessment, stage our tooling, coordinate credential and license transfers, and cut over deliberately rather than all at once. You own your licenses and hardware throughout, which makes transitions much cleaner than people expect.
Flat monthly per-user pricing for Pod Care, with no long-term contract required. Projects such as a network rebuild or a migration are quoted separately so your recurring cost stays predictable and you always know what a given month will look like.
Documented, tested, monitored IT from a family-owned Arizona team.
