How It Works

Onboarding around your season

01

Free Deep Dive

We assess office systems, plant and packing house networks, field connectivity and backups, and write it up plainly.

02

Deploy quietly

Agents install remotely across office and administrative machines while production continues untouched.

03

Fix in the off-season

Major work is sequenced deliberately into the quiet window, because nothing structural should happen during a run.

04

Hold the line at peak

During season we shift to monitoring, rapid response and a frozen change window. Stability beats improvement when product is moving.

When hands are genuinely needed

We are Arizona-based. Cabling, access points and hardware replacement around Modesto are arranged through a vetted local partner, scoped by us, with our engineer on the line.

Agriculture and food processing change every IT assumption

In most industries a bad week is embarrassing. In food processing it is spoiled product, a failed audit or a load rejected at a customer's dock.

Modesto's economy is built on growing, packing and processing food, along with the dairy, nut, wine and canning operations that surround it and the trucking, cold storage and equipment businesses that serve them. The technology sits in three quite different places. There is a normal office running accounting, payroll, purchasing and sales. There is a plant or packing house full of scales, labellers, sorters, control systems and inspection equipment attached to computers that a vendor configured years ago. And there is the field, where connectivity is whatever a cellular signal offers that day.

The plant side is where inexperienced providers do damage. Those control and inspection PCs frequently run operating systems that cannot be patched and software that will not survive being touched. The correct answer is not to modernise them on a whim. It is to isolate each one on its own network segment, permit only the specific traffic it requires, take a complete disk image so it can be rebuilt in a couple of hours, and make sure it never holds company credentials. That is core network administration work, and done properly it converts an open-ended risk into a contained one without disturbing a single line of vendor software.

Traceability and food safety records add a second requirement. Customers and auditors expect lot tracking, temperature records and quality data to be retrievable, complete and protected from tampering. That is a data-integrity and retention problem: backups that are immutable and tested, access controls that limit who can alter records, and audit logging that shows who changed what. Our security programme covers the technical side, and we document the configuration so you can explain it during an audit.

Seasonality changes the whole operating model. A processor's headcount and system load can multiply for a few months, and the worst possible time to attempt a migration is the middle of a run. We plan around that explicitly: structural work in the quiet window, a frozen change policy at peak, temporary user provisioning that is a batch job rather than forty individual setups, and monitoring turned up when the stakes are highest. That is what a flat per-user managed IT plan with remote support should look like for a seasonal business.

Pacific time from an Arizona desk

Arizona keeps standard time all year, so from March to November we are on exactly the same clock as Modesto, and in winter we are one hour ahead. Our engineers are online before a morning shift starts, and there is no gap where a request waits for another region to wake up. The full city list is at remote IT support.

Ask us about the machine everyone avoids

Every plant has one computer nobody will touch. We will tell you exactly how to make it survivable without changing the software on it.

What We Cover

Services weighted for Central Valley agriculture

Six areas that matter to growers, packers, processors and the businesses that serve them.

Plant Networks

Control systems, isolated

VLAN separation, explicit firewall rules and full disk imaging for scales, labellers, sorters and inspection PCs.

Traceability

Records that survive an audit

Immutable backup, access control and audit logging around lot tracking, temperature and quality data.

Seasonal Scale

Forty new users in a morning

Standard builds and batch provisioning so a seasonal intake is a scheduled task rather than a week of setup.

Field Access

Working on a weak signal

Offline-tolerant file sync, cellular-friendly application choices and managed devices that update whenever they reconnect.

Cold Storage

Monitoring that reaches a person

Alerting on the systems and connectivity that support refrigerated and controlled environments, routed to a human rather than an inbox.

Help Desk

A named team that knows your season

Pod Response assigns the same engineers every time, with same-business-day human response and after-hours cover for Pod Care clients.

Modesto and Central Valley IT questions

Our packing line computer runs software the vendor will not update. What do we do?

Contain it rather than fight it. We move the machine to an isolated network segment with no general internet route, allow only the traffic its software genuinely needs, take a full disk image so it can be rebuilt in a couple of hours, and keep company credentials off it. The vendor's configuration is left exactly as it is.

Can you handle the jump in staff during season?

Yes, and it should be routine. We agree in advance how seasonal users are counted for billing, build a standard image for the roles you hire into, and provision accounts in batches. A seasonal intake becomes a scheduled task instead of a scramble.

Will you make changes during our busiest weeks?

Only if something is broken. We deliberately freeze non-urgent change during a run and push structural work into the quiet window. During peak we increase monitoring and response instead. Improvements at the wrong moment cause more damage than they prevent.

How do you protect food safety and traceability records?

Through backup that cannot be altered or deleted by an attacker, access controls that limit who can modify records, and audit logging that shows changes. We also document the configuration so you can demonstrate it during a customer or third-party audit rather than describing it from memory.

Some of our staff work in areas with very poor cellular coverage. Does that break remote support?

It changes the design rather than breaking it. Files sync locally so work continues offline and reconciles when a signal returns, applications are chosen to tolerate latency, and managed devices pull updates whenever they do connect. For support itself, we can work on a device the moment it comes back online.

Is the time difference an issue?

No. Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so we match Pacific time exactly from March to November and are one hour ahead in winter. Our engineers are at their desks before a morning shift begins.
