No. Orca IT is family owned and operates from Gilbert, Arizona, supporting Seattle clients remotely with our own engineers. When physical work is genuinely required we arrange a vetted local technician for that task only, with your consent and with our team directing the visit.
We can design and support them within the limits of the connection. That means offline-tolerant workflows, sensible synchronisation when the link returns, local caching, and backups that do not silently fail during weeks at sea. We cannot troubleshoot live while a vessel is out of contact, and we plan around that rather than ignoring it.
Yes, on the technical side. We implement access control, MFA, encryption, audit logging, configuration and media handling controls, document them, and prepare evidence for the prime’s review. Certification comes from an authorised assessment body, not from your IT provider.
Arizona skips daylight saving, so from March to early November we are on exactly the same clock as Seattle. From November to March we are one hour ahead, which means we are already working when your office opens.
It is a manageable one. Those systems go on their own network segment with tight firewall rules and no general internet access, everything that talks to them is hardened and monitored, and their configurations are backed up. Production continues and the easy path in disappears.
