The technical safeguards are largely remote work already: encryption, access control, unique user identification, audit logging, patching and backup verification. We perform and document those. Physical safeguards and workforce policy stay with you, and we are clear about that boundary rather than implying we cover everything.
We isolate them. Those systems go on their own VLAN with narrowly defined rules for what can reach them, no direct internet access where possible, and monitoring on the boundary. That is the correct control when the machine builder will not certify a patched operating system.
